It may be part of the ageing process or a little bit of nostalgia because last week I spoke about time with a couple of old school buddies and this week I had lunch with my ageing brothers.
The four of us meet every 6-8 weeks regardless of any other catch up in between time. We started this about two years ago. We realised that time can slip by and we hadn’t made contact and of course, we are not getting any younger. Such things as mobility is becoming a reality which means the opportunities in the future will be reduced.
One topic of conversation is always the nephews and nieces and their families and what are they all doing. Some of the nephews and nieces are nearing the time or at least considering retirement.
Our other big topic is football, particularly the progress of Essendon. Well, that wasn’t the most positive conversation at this luncheon after their demise against Collingwood and then Melbourne.
So we enjoy the company, the meal, and the wine. We take another photo of the four of us, and when I send a photo to each we all just wonder who is looking older than the last time we had lunch!
