My reflection this week under ‘Sharings’ comes from my sister Aileen.
I was talking to her about my articles and she mentioned this one that she had just written for her associates of the Little Company of Mary – LCMs.
Her article has much depth, faith and meaning to it when you realise that she has not enjoyed good heath for many years.
So when someone like Aileen who could have reasons to say “Hey Lord what are you doing? I have endured much without relief.”
Yet she can say, ‘let go’ and ‘let God’ then not only her words but the faith and trust she has can inspire us to keep going when things are not okay in our lives.

“Above all trust in the slow work of God”.
Words of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, which have been a great source of consolation to me over the past couple of years.
It is a wonderful feeling to be in control of our lives.
It is a wonderful feeling to feel valuable, to do what we want to do; to feel independent.
It is hard to imagine a time when one is not in control and able to come and go without depending on others.
I think of St. Peter who was told he would face a time when he would not be in control and would be led where he did not want to go, but our faith tells us that we are in God’s hands, and somehow God is at work in all that happens in our lives.
Sometimes it seems that nothing is happening. We feel useless. Yet these are the times when we are called to “let go” and “let God” be God in our lives.
August is the final month of winter, and we look forward to the beauty and the joy that comes with spring, so too in the winter of our lives we can in faith, look forward to our spiritual spring, knowing that we are in God’s hands.
