It is now nearly two months since the Bishop discussed with me about my role as Parish Priest in both Kyabram and Tatura.
The outcome has been that I continue as Parish Priest of Tatura and a new priest would be appointed to Kyabram.
Well it has taken place this week. I had a wonderful send off last Sunday, January 15th, by the parishioners. The liturgy was a very joyous and happy occasion, with presentations, and a beautiful morning tea to follow.
So Wednesday was the official change-over date and Tuesday was also the start of my fourteenth year in Tatura.
A few significant dates and events to commence our year.
I visited Fr Jinjo in Kyabram yesterday to welcome him and to thank him for taking over from me.
The parish have experienced some interesting changes with their priests.
They had the Augustinian Fathers for over one hundred years, then I took over eleven years ago brining in the diocesan priesthood and now Fr Jinjo bringing with him his Philippine background and culture, so plenty of variety in the administration of the parish.
I now settle back to the pastoral care of one parish which still a number of our priests are doing around the diocese.
Hopefully more time for self, family and friends and riding the motor bike.
Fr Michael
