They say from little things – big things grow! That has certainly been the case with the Grandparents Mass.
We have always made a special celebration of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day with a great response from all.
Some years ago we took up the idea of highlighting the role of grandparents.
I know from my own family or close friends that so much of their time is now taken up with looking after their grandchildren.
There was no better way to do this than to celebrate this close to the feast day of Mary’s parents – Joachim and Anne which is on the 26th July.
Once again we had trouble finding enough seats for everyone. While I was standing at the back of the church I loved looking at the faces of families as the children processed down the aisle, moments of pride and joy.
The Preps, Year one and year two’s brought joy to all as they sang their reflection hymn.
A wonderful joy in the joy of grandparents.
